Who will save the chidren?
>> 09 September 2008
Who will save the children?
Unwanted and unloved.
How can we be so blind, so deaf
To the crying from above?
All Heaven's surely weeping
Can you not hear?
Are we justified in murder
For convenience? Is it so dear?
We refuse the lesson
The past has tried to teach.
This holocaust denied by those
Humanity can't reach
Who will save the children?
God knew us in the womb.
Jesus didn't die for us to lay
Babies in the tomb.
This bitter war conscripting
Little soldiers unaware.
Lay down your weapons, Doctor;
Human beings, not enemies, there.
We cannot see their faces,
Nor hear their silent screams.
'They don't exist,' you tell us
Yet they haunt me in my dreams.
'Who will save the children?'
Comes the question from on High.
We cannot temporize, my friend,
It's you... and I.
